Music and noise !
It has been said that music is just sound you want to hear, and noise is sound
you don't want to hear…. |
We and many of our visitors are folk musicians and dancers, and so acoustic rehearsals
and social music and dance on site are liable to happen often. We ask our
visitors to avoid siesta time and to stop making music and song sounds outside
(including the hangar and barn) after 10pm except Friday and Saturday nights
(midnight should be OK with restraint), and we trust that non-participating
guests will accept this. Equally, we ask all guests to respect our neighbours'
peace by keeping overall noise down within these times especially in the orchard
or off the site.
Rural Central Brittany is intrinsically quieter than many parts of the western
world, distant from airports, trains and major roads, bars and discos. Sudden
passages of tractors in the daytime and nearby, all-hours harvesting of grain in
the summer and maize in the autumn are, however, part of country life.
