A spiral staircase leads to 2 charming double bedrooms, one with double bed and gable-end window, and ceiling up to the ridge, and the other with dormer window, double bed, both with a view over the fields; a single bed in a curtained alcove on the landing which can also be used for hanging space; bathroom with over-bath thermostatic shower and wc. If you have two people who want to share a room but not a bed, we have a folding single bed which can be squeezed in! There should only be 5 people maximum staying in the house; please ask if you would like us to try and find additional accommodation nearby. Duvets and mattress protectors are provided; we can supply linen if requested in advance for a small extra charge. We advise you to bring your own travelling cot if required. There are child protection gates at the top and bottom of the staircase. We have had many parties staying with toddlers; we suggest that you keep the courtyard gates closed as there is intermittent traffic on the road outside, and flowers, plants (and weeds!) have not been chosen for child friendliness.
In the second house are simpler rooms for close friends: a twin room and a double room with dormer and adjoining small room with roof light only, and a wc upstairs. This house has a shower/bidet/wc room on the ground floor, often used by streams of campers, and large kitchen, often in use for large scale catering! This house is not intended to be let as a whole and is usually shared with us. We also have a double bedroom with large en-suite shower room, both with very limited natural light as they are behind a cow-shed sized window (about 1 square foot!) in the Barn! Site FacilitiesThe hangar or cart shed on the right of the picture (see Home at Le Corboulo) is equipped for dancing/banquets/breakfasts and also has theatre curtains and lights, table tennis, darts, table football ("mini-foot"), small pool table, large heater etc. The table tennis table is showerproof and can be used in the courtyard. We have some bicycles, tennis and badminton rackets, sets of Boules, barbeque and garden furniture in the courtyard. There are many leisure facilities in the area. CampingAlthough we are not an official campsite, we have an orchard to the rear of 1/2 acre, with access through the barn. There are additional toilet facilities in the barn for campers, and an alternative technology warm water (if it’s sunny!) outdoor shower in the field. There is some enclosed space inside the barn and hangar (the large main cart shed) with carpet and camp beds for indoor camping when the weather is variable. |
